It is such a human thing to be protective of the story of yourself, that which has shaped the person you’ve become. And right now, we are in a time that is calling on all of us to learn the stories that we don’t know. That everyone has a story is something we get. What we struggle to understand is that everyone is also born into a story. Becuase the story that you tell of yourself and the story I tell myself are very much informed by the stories that we were told about ourselves. This is what happens when we live in a society and conditions like we do, everyone is born into a story.

Woman to Woman. Mother to child.

Chances are you’ve found my page

because you’ve either had a birth photographer before, or the thought doesn’t completely freak you out. If you’re on the fence, I get it. It’s a unique moment to decide to bring a photographer into. And maybe your partner isn’t totally on board, or you’re a little bit afraid of having a moment so raw, captured on camera. But the fact that you’re even considering it, tells me you’re kind of a badass. So, i’m glad you’re here.

It’s an intimate space, it’s true. What’s also true, is that due to nerves and medication, a lot of mother’s are unable to be fully present to the experience in front of them.

Whenever and however it happens, the moment you meet your baby is one that deserves to be documented.

Your story

For the mother’s who know that they have more options than most of us are often presented with, that they have agency over their own bodies, and that their birth experiences can and should be guided by them: let’s pass down that moment to your children and children’s children. Through honest & visceral imagery, I help mothers to take ownership of their birth stories, and bear witness to their own unrivaled power.
